Our top-of-the-game mentions have done MORE than enough to deserve to be ranked legendary in the riotous world of Sound Clash!

They all belong to different generations, and we’ve set our individual templates for measuring their achievements. We’ve mentioned how we put them all on equal footing and compare them based on their hard work, innovations, scores and triumphs!

AGARD’s Top 5:

  1. Kevin “Squingy” Bennett – Selector Squingy, who’s real name is Kevin Bennett, coined himself the “Michael Jordan” of Soundclash and is still referred to as such by clash fans around the world.
  2. Pink Panther – Pink Panther is Black Kat sound system’s top man, known also as the ‘five-star general’, who’s won the World Championship 9 times!
  3. Tony Matterhorn – Tony Matterhorn is a dancehall reggae DJ and sound system selector from Kingston, Jamaica. He got his start in the sound system arena in the early 1990s with Inner City Sound and King Addies. He’s won several international clashes, including World Clash Jamaica and the UK Cup Clash.
  4. Fire Links – Fire links started out as a young selector on Bodyguard Sound, country sound from Clarendon, alongside Johnny Guard.
  5. Sami-T – In an industry dominated by dancehall, which he has utmost respect for, Sami-T from Mighty Crown the Far East Ruler is a selector who’s always pushed to keep reggae in the forefront.

  1. Ricky Trooper – Ricky Trooper is the Legendary DJ From Jamaica who also owns Sound Trooper, The Mean Machine. He was one of the baddest sound system/selector in the dancehall clash world since his days on the Kilimanjaro Disco.
  2. Kevin Squingy Bennett – Bass Odyssey’s selector Squingy, who’s real name is Kevin Bennett, coined himself the “Michael Jordan” of sound clash and is still referred to as such by clash fans around the world.
  3. Tony Matterhorn – Tony Matterhorn (aka Tony Mentally Ill) is a dancehall reggae DJ and sound system selector from Kingston, Jamaica. He got his start in the sound system arena in the early 1990s. He’s won several international clashes, including World Clash Jamaica and the UK Cup Clash.
  4. Fire Links – Fire links started out as the young MC young/selector alongside Johnny on Bodyguard Sound from May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica.
  5. David Rodigan – David Michael “Ram Jam” Rodigan is a British radio DJ known for his selections of reggae and dancehall music. He has played on stations including Radio London, Capital 95.8, Kiss 100, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2 and BFBS Radio. Rodigan is a well-decorated clash veteran.
